Provide AIX support for over 300 servers and LPARS, from 9076 SP’s to the newer P595 Squadron range for the IBM Internal Account. Acceptance Testing of new server builds to ensure correct alerting is in place, that all
applications run as expected and that documentation is created or updated. Fix problems when they occur or provide Problem Determination to assist the level 3 teams. Responsible for recycling AIX servers and their applications when needed.
As part of PD and problem fixing, responsible for changing file system sizes, compressing files, interrogating and cross-referencing logs, resetting passwords, starting backups, recycling applications, recycling subsystem daemons etc.
Action Problem and Change management procedures. Provide effective communication with all support teams and customers including offshore technical and non-technical teams. Assist first level offshore operators with technical and procedural
issues. Develop and maintain AIX application health check scripts. Maintain agreed levels of service.. |
